Time to plan the return journey

It's been a few easier days here in Thassos, and we took this time to wind down a little and plan the return route. Ali was busy looking at different options and as for me, I got hired to do a virtual tour for the hotel we stayed at earlier (Blue Dream Palace).

Yesterday, we visited Saliara (baby bib) Beach which was recommended to us by many locals. Its water has a distinct green appearance since the sand here is  marble rather than the regular sand found at other beaches.

Later on when it got darker, we climbed up to the ancient theatre of Thassos and got the chance to see a spectacular view of Limenas (the port city and capital of Thassos).

Today, we went to see Antonis Mitzalis at his hotel Makryammos. He wanted to know more about what Friendship Arabia does and exchanged with Ali some ideas about future cooperation between Bahrain and Greece. He also showed us a British produced video, filmed in 1965, about the discovery of Thassos as a touristic destination.

After we talked, we took a dip at Makryammos beach and did some snorkelling and enjoyed one of Thassos' best beaches for the last time, at least for now. Later that evening, our friend Costis gave Ali a special piece that he made and we said our goodbyes, hoping to see him in Bahrain soon.

Tomorrow morning we leave Thassos and head to Samothrace to discover a new Greek island.
