Day 15: Oman, a fond goodbye

Posted On : 16 Apr 2012

Today is our last day in Oman and we decided to visit Sultan Qaboos Grand Mosque. It is one of the most beautiful mosques in the world and it has also the biggest woven carpet.

This is a place no matter how many times you visit, you will always marvel at its beauty. While we were there we met a Dutch TV crew and we had a brief chat with them. They told us how much they are enjoying Oman. We presented them with copies of our book 101 Things to See and Do in Oman and wished them good luck with their filming.

For lunch, we went to our favourite Yemeni Arab World Restaurant. We then visited the company that did the slide show for our book launch and thanked them for their support. We also gave them copies of some of our publications.

With that we said goodbye to Muscat and drove to Al Buraymi where we will spend the last night in Oman before driving to Abu Dhabi airport to drop Eleni for her flight back to Greece.

With most of the team departing, Haider and I will drive the cars back to Bahrain after two weeks of travelling around the Gulf.

Even though we have now finished several Friendship Arabia tours, this tour has been very special. We learned a lot, met many wonderful people and had an amazing experience.
